Waiver & Media Release

Liability waiver and media release for camps, showcases, and combines.

1. Agreement

By registering for or attending any Gifted Hoops camp, showcase, combine, league, tryout, training session, or event (each an "Event"), the participant and, if the participant is a minor, their parent or legal guardian, agree to the terms below on behalf of the participant.

2. Assumption of Risk

Basketball activities involve inherent risks including, without limitation, physical contact, falls, collisions, sprains, fractures, concussion, heat-related illness, and other injuries. The participant voluntarily assumes all such risks, whether known or unknown, arising out of participation in any Event.

3. Release and Waiver of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the participant and their parent or legal guardian release, waive, and discharge Gifted Hoops, 513 High School Hoops, and their respective owners, officers, staff, coaches, evaluators, volunteers, contractors, host venues, and affiliates (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all claims, demands, actions, and liabilities for personal injury, illness, death, property loss, or damage arising out of or related to participation in any Event, except for injury caused by the gross negligence or willful misconduct of a Released Party.

4. Medical Authorization

The participant confirms they are physically fit to participate. In the event of injury or illness, the participant and parent or guardian authorize Gifted Hoops staff to arrange emergency medical care and agree to be financially responsible for any resulting medical expenses.

5. Media Release

The participant grants Gifted Hoops and 513 High School Hoops an irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide license to photograph, film, record, and use the participant's name, image, likeness, voice, jersey number, school affiliation, and on-court performance from any Event for editorial, promotional, marketing, ranking, evaluation, and commercial purposes across any medium now known or later developed, without further notice, review, approval, or compensation. The participant waives any right to inspect or approve the finished materials.

6. Personal Information

Contact information provided by parents and guardians is kept private and is not sold or shared with third parties for marketing. Player profile information (name, class year, position, height, school, club, and evaluation content) may be published as part of Gifted Hoops rankings and coverage.

7. Code of Conduct

Participants, parents, guardians, and spectators are expected to treat staff, evaluators, opponents, officials, and venues with respect. Gifted Hoops reserves the right to remove any person from an Event for unsportsmanlike behavior, harassment, or violation of venue rules, without refund.

8. Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refunds policy. This waiver does not alter, and is not altered by, the Refunds policy.
